Hi all,
Has anyone tried using a TP100 or TP120SD with a DTXpressII module?
Would it work as a snare w/ rim click/rim shot?

Thanks,
Z

I think the 3 zone pad was added in the DTXpress 3 for the first time. You could use the pad but would only get 2 zones if I remember correctly. T

Thanks!
The TP65S is advertised as 3-zone pad (hit/rim click/rim shot) and it comes with the DTXpressII, that's why I'm wondering if the TP100 would work the same way.

that is correct, and I got all three when I just had the Xpress II module, which is the "set" I started with

Zoltan, Are you talking about the TP 80s which was the 2 zone pad that preceded the 65s?

I believe the TP-80 and PCY-80 series were included with the original DTXpress, they started with the 65 series with the DTXpress II. I might be wrong about this though.
Take care

I guess I should've been more clear. My 65s is a "3-zone" pad and I was wondering if the TP100/120 pads would work w/ the DTExpressII just like the 65s.

Hi Zoltan.
If the TP65s worked as a 3 zone pad on the DTXpress II, then so will the TP-120sd and the TP-100. Different pads but all same assignment of the 3 zones.
I don't know how sensitive the TP-120/100 will be on the Xpress II since I don't know if the old module has trigger type in the trigger setup screen for TP-120/100, if not, try leaving it as a TP-65s.
Take care

Maybe I wasn't clear earlier, but it worked fine on mine.

So the final conclusion is that the TP100/120 pads work just fine, confirmed by 2 independent sources. Excellent. I declare the thread closed. :)

Just for the record...

I am on the verge of doing exactly the same as you are: Adding a tp-100 pad to my dtxpress II. This should work out nicely for several reasons:

-DTXpress II already has support for 3-zone snarepad
-The guy in the clip below use this pad (or tp-120) with his dtxpress I

The only minor drawback could be that you may be unable to use the toggle button that is located on the tp-100,
since that one only is supported by dtxpressIV and up.

The only thing that you will not get any use from is the red knob on the pad then. But if you get the three zones that plenty from an older module. T

The only thing preventing me from doing it is that I need to sell my Roland PD120
and/or my TP65s first.
