Hello All. I haven't been around much... spending most of my time on Hellfire's forums working some minor bugs out on my new kit.
Anyways... two weeks ago I got my DM10 Pro Kit!!! :D
The first pic is the DM10 Pro Kit, stock. The 2nd pic is after I installed mesh heads (Billy Blast). The last picture is the kit with an additional surge cymbal.

Hey Guinness, The kit looks real nice, I cant wait to try the new DM10 module. The olde Billy Blast 2 ply heads in black were my favorites, please let us know what the new heads are like? After adding the cymbal do you have room for a 4th tom now??
Thanks for sharing the pics of the new kit. Good Luck with it and keep us up to date with new additions. Maybe some samples of how the kit sounds or a video perhaps???? T :)

I have room for 3 more toms on that rack. But I'll probably keep it a 5 piece for awhile. I want to add another cymbal or two. Right now, I'm using tom1's rim as a splash, and tom3's rim as a china. So, I'd like to get actual cymbals instead at some point.
I find the rack to be a bit limiting, as far as placement. While I haven't played my accoustic kit in years, I was used to it. With this rack, I'm not able to put things exactly like they were with my accoustic kit. For example the ride is too far right for me. However, I'm getting used to it, so it's becoming less of an issue.
As far as the module, I like it alot. The voices are fantasic, and there's ton's of choices. I like the layering too. To me, the snare, kick and cymbals are the most important sounds. The snare is outright beautiful sounding. The cymbals are just as awesome (although, I'm not a huge fan of the ride. (still tweaking that) And the kick has potential... I'm still messing with that as well. Getting the right layers is the key. And with as many kick voices it has, there are a lot of combinations.
The mesh heads I like ALOT. If you look closely, you can see that the kick head not only doesn't have a patch, but it's slightly darker in comparison to the snare and toms. This is because I added a 9" (11" for the 10" snare and tom) circle cut out from an old cotton undershirt. The look is cleaner, imho. (you can see/read all about it here: http://www.dmdrummer.com/index.php?topic=131.30)
The patch on the snare, after 1 week of sporatic use, started to peel up. But with a quick squirt of spray adhesive, it's back in place. The heads are MUCH quieter than the Alesis mylar heads. And I like the feel much more.
I'm about to send the hi-hat pedal back, as it hasn't worked correctly out of the box. But outside of that, I'm enjoying the kit. There's things I'd like it do differently, but compared to the DM5 I had, it's years ahead!

Wow!
You know, I am not really that familiar with Alesis kits, but they sure look great!
I love the "remo" looking heads, and those cymbals rock! ;)
