Hi to everyone who has joined and all visitors,

I wanted to let everyone know about some new features we will be installing and hoping to get some feedback to see what members want in a drum forum. I am uploading avatar packs as we speak, so there will be avatars available when you join, (you still will be able to upload your own). We are working on the ability to have users choose their own theme, I have been testing different themes and trying to get the the right ones for our members and soon to be members.

Please keep checking back, I think you will like what you see. And also if you have some functional suggestions feel free to email me at Tom@ThomasKnipe.com

Thanks, Tom K :)

Hi All, I am testing this new theme, you will also notice you have the ability to change your own theme. I have uploaded quite a few and will add as many as I can. I want you all to be able to tailor the look to what you like. We will be adding many many features and add ons in the near future. I hope you all enjoy.

I am in the planning stages of adding a store to purchase Drum related books and media at huge discounts for members only. I think the whole point of doing this will be focused on making a community not a Market place. I am all for the free market but I dont like the flea market mentality of some forums. Unless ofcourse we get a peanut roaster then I am all for the flea market atmosphere.

Community is like a family and in families people are different, how boring would it be if people were all the same?

That would be a great idea. Kudos to you Tom for all your efforts into this :)

Thank Kev, its going to take some time, the idea so far is to sell everything a few cents above cost, that way we would keep the site paid for and with the little left over use for prizes (really really good prizes)

Education, fun, community, products all under one roof. Man its going to be great.

Are moderators banned from receiving prizes? If so, I quit! ;D (Just kidding)
I still think this is a great idea.

The new color scheme is very hard to read. My first impression was "wow sexy" but then it turned to "hey, I'm confused". Now, I am normally confused so it may not be the site. As I am typing I think it's actually the topic buttons that show if there are new posts. I think they blink slightly and are hard to read. Maybe if we just twek those.

I like it but I think there are various color schemes that we can try, I will get on it. The visually impaired might be offended with this scheme.

Michael, did you get my email about the logo??? I loved it and would like to use it permanently if its ok with you???

I am working on the drum Bio as we speak. Hopefully finished tonight. T :)

No, I didn't get the email about the logos.
I have them stored in a vector format (Corel Draw) so they can scale or be recolored on a whim.

Hey I like the logos as they are, But use any color you wish. I have delayed the photo because of an apron malfunction. I couldnt find my "Kiss the Cook" apron. I called you about the trigger, if you want it let me know and I will send it. T :)

Hey, I changed the theme! I have the power! Mwah-ha-ha!

I had some triggers lying around and made a non-destructive neoprene support.

I can't wait for your bio/picture!

Hi Michael, You do have the power, I like the lighter theme but I was hoping to get the Edrumforum name in the top most banner. The rest of it I love. I getting up the courage to go in and replace a few lines of code.

As I stated at VDrums many thank you's to you for all of your help to me personally and for your help in the edrum community. T :)

Tom and the administrators, sorry if this is posted in the wrong place. Since the site has come back online, I see the shoutbox is missing. Will this make a return or was it an unsustainable feature.

Seems like we had a similiar thought Bobby.

Aye laddie! Unsustainable say ye (Said in my best Sean Connery voice - hahaha).

Of course that's nothing like trying to follow a conversation of the two brothers that played in Oasis - hahaha. It's all good.

LOL I actually tried looking for a Scottish/English dictionary to reply to the other forum until I was on page 5 of my google search and gave up ROFLMAO

I am convinced the shoutbox will be back ;)

*HugS*
Debbie :o

PS Just for the record, Bobby cursed us! One of the last things written in the shoutbox was asking if *I* had broken the profile thingie. So I went looking and only removed one lil word ROFLMAO :P

LOL Debbie. We speak English ::) what your looking for is old Scots. Or just listen to Billy Connolly. He's from the other side of the Clyde from me but we talk much the same. I was in a support band to him in 1975. I was 15 at the time. Now look where he is and where I am.... what the f*** happened to me ???

Wes is that a rack of guns at your back :o

Wes is that a rack of guns at your back

If your talking about my avatar Bobby, that's a row of tall pine trees behind me. The only guns in the photo are my arms - hahahaha

I crack me up!

Thank You Jazz, Bobby, I am making headway in getting a drum related discout estore. I have made contacts and it is progressing slowly but for good reason. I need something that will run itself and just make enough to cover its own cost so I am looking for a program (written by a friend) that will continuously monitor the best sellers and high rated titles for drummers. Sort of what Amazon does but only for our needs. Thats where the hold up is so far but we are working on it. There will be more news soon. T ;D
