But it recognizes the open and closed positions just fine.
Is there a hope that I can fix it or should I just go and buy a new one?

In the module, there should be a adjustment for footsplash sensitivity, it's a matter of messing with that setting. If the open and close works fine, chances are you need to tweak that setting, it's in different places depending what Yamaha module you are using, normally in the "Utility" menu.

Hey Zoltan...you're gonna have to give us a little more info...like what module you are using...:)...like Jack said...there is more than likely a setting that can be adjusted in the module for footsplash sensitivity...if your module is a DTXpress IV look at pg. 16 (owner's manual)....if it is a DTXplorer look at pg. 13 (owner's manual)...if it's something other than those two you'll have to let us know...:)

Thanks for the replies! I'll look at the user manual and then the trigger settings. The module is a DTXpressII.

The manual for the DTXpress II is cryptic at best.
There is a adjustment in the Utility menu, not quite sure where but it's called "Splash".
There are 2 manuals for the DTXpress II, it's in the reference manual.
I hope you can find it and it cures your problem!
Take care

Hi Zoltan.
Hopefully this will fix your problem, also, on the front of the HH-65, there is a bolt there (uses a drum key), you can loosen this bolt and adjust your pedal travel from there, this might be worth investigating as well.
Either way, let us know how you make out.
Take care

Thanks Jack,
I found a "HH Offs" and "HH T" setting in the Util menu and fiddling with them made
the foot chick and splash much better. Possibly a new cable helped too.
Thanks for the help everyone!
