Hi Guys, I wanted to shamelessly promote a new finish I have been working on, Lacquer. I used the same finishing techniques I have used with oil over the past years and found that I can deliver a superb product with short lead times.
This particular drum is actually going to be a practice pad for a friend of mine. one side has a mesh head and the other a muffled mylar head. I will also add a neoprene foam rubber sound off pad for a different feel for practice. Later on this pad can be converted for electronic use.
The color is a new dye line i will be offering in standard and custom colors. This color is a very special color I mixed which will not be available but is a mixture of various blues for a very beautiful color. I will be happy to create a custom one of a kind color for anyone that asks.
The pads are not converted for e drum use but can be set up for conversions or for any custom use. The pads are 3" deep and will be delivered with mylar heads on both sides unless prioor arrangements are made. The price for these pads in lacquer with 2 heads and rims andlugs is $145.00 per pad. I hope you like the new colors and finish available. Thank You, Thomas Knipe

Hey Tom, that's super purty!
Just out of curiosity, does 3" leave enough room for an electronic conversion? I mean, I know it can be done with a reflector plate, but what if someone want a cone/bridge? Is that enough depth?
What's the head size?
And finally, is that price with all hardware? both sets of rims, tension rods, & lugs? Sounds like a sweet deal!

Hi Dave, Thanks for the compliment. 3" does leave enough room for a conversion if someone chooses to convert this. This particular unit is 10" I typically do these in 8", 10", 12" & 16 or 18" for the kick. Prices vary according to size. T The final finishes are pretty amazing though if I say so myself. :)

I am updating the lacquers allready, working on something new. the first pic is called Rising Smoke or Smoked Maple. This is a test drum for one of our own members. He asked me to work up a sample for a kit he wants so, this is my version of a natural maple with a natural fade.
I Hope Brian likes this drum as it is a sample for him!!! lol Thanks for all the compliments. I updated KnipeDrums.biz with these photos and will be doing more product videos and with better mics for a more accurate demo. Thanks again, Tom
