I thought this section was about Worshipping Drumming. Not Drumming for Worship. ;D
So what Drumming do you Worship?
I worship the drumming of Gene Krupa and Buddy Rich.

I worship the drumming that Jesus Christ (the REAL inventor of drums both E and A) does in my spirit and allows me to pass on to others. ;D

You notice the word "drum" does not appear in the Bible. I feel left out.

He created all good things. The word chocolate isn't in there either.

OK, this bothered me. I went to biblegateway.com to confirm that "drum" does not appear in the Bible. It doesn't. What kind of loving God wouldn't mention the drums?
So I spent some time researching musical instruments of the Bible and early Jewish communities.
It turns out that drums are mentioned in the Bible. Phew. They just had different names. The most common was Timbrel, which was a frame drum. It is similar in construction and playing to the tambourine. There is speculation that is was played both with and without jangles.
Psalm 149:3
Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.

They had to be in there. They couldn't do all that dancing with no drums.

All kidding aside some of the Isreali and other middle eastern drum rhythms are so differnet when you hear them it's almost as if you are hearing another language. Former cusotmer of mine back in my Guitar Center days was an Orthodox Jew. He was one of the most amazing drummers ever. Played polyrhythms as easy as breathing...but teh really interesting stuff he played (he told em...and I tended to believe him) were the old "shepard" (his words) beats that were played at weddings, celebrations etc.
To get back on topic..sort... I tend to worship the more modern drumemrs that are capable of playing a groove and the really technical speedy stuff.

God wasn't a drummer......... If he had been, the world would be a happier friendlier place.
God was a guitarist.
Psalm 74:5 They behaved like men wielding axes to cut through a thicket of trees.

I have recently become a convert of Tomas Haake of Meshuggah.
Hmmm Meshuggah that sounds like a lost tribe in the Bible right? The Koran?

King David would play anything he could get his hands on INCLUDING Bathsheba...one of his soldier's wife.....I don't think God gave him the hi-five on that one tho'

King David was definitely number one!
followed by King Solomon and his massive temple orchestra...confirmed by the latest archaeological finds....
Ezekiel and Isaiah were trancers I'm sure...their prophetic books were so deep few people understood the meanings of the writings...they have college courses on just those two books in the seminary

But in 2 Samuel we learn that Bannah and Recab were leaders of bands. And their dad was a Beerothite. Now, I don't know what a Beerothite is, but it does have Beer in the name.

maybe they were rock and roll bands that toured the "bars" of their time, and their dad was the tour manager?
