I was putting together a mobile practice kit when I came across an old Drum Tech Kick pad. I noticed that the rubber contact surface was worn and needed replacement but other than that the Kick Pad was in perfect condition. The pad was a second for me the first was long since gone and I had purchased this pad to offer inspiration for quadraspurs 1. I remembered loving this pad so much and how soft it was but also how well it triggered. So I decided to call Drum Tech and order a replacement rubber surface. I ordered the part on 2/23/08 and have received it 2/28/08. Here is my review of my Drum Tech Rubber Kick Pad:

Features:

Polarity switch compatible with just about any module
Daisy Chaining (input and output)
10" pad plenty big enough for a double pedal
Folding base is made of metal and very durable and portable.
Soft soft rubber, so soft it feels as if you are hitting a firm pilloe
Accurate triggering with no retriggering problems out of the box

Overall the best feeling Kick Pad I have ever played.

Can't wait to see pics. That sounds like the kind of kick pad I like.

here are the pics, I refurbished the pad back to its glory. Enjoy

The last picture you can see that I added 3M safety tread tape to help keep the pedal stabile and to not scratch the aluminum base.

The gentleman that works for Drum Tech told me he would be joining soon to. TTYL, Tom K

I just went over to the Drum Tech site. I didn't know they were still in business. I want a dual pole pad! And maybe two of those kick pads!

Tell the fella from there that you saw it here maybe they will give you a discount. I used to own the flat pads and they were the best rubber pads I have ever played bar none. I keep looking for the pads on ebay, thats where I got the replcaement kick.

Mike, if you look in the diy section under replacing the pads rubber pictorial, you can see why the pad feels so great. Talk to you, T
