Excellent Tom.
Thank you for taking the time to do this.
It is just a little different from the IIs but sounds good all the same.
I have about 10 files already done, some I'm not doing since they are mostly drums and or sound effects and I'm not doing the loop'ed song in the IIs module.
I've noticed that midi will not assign certain wierd internal sounds from the IIs properly, these are sound programed to the pad rims on a stock IIs.
So, I'll continue working on my project then since it seems to work, this will be a work in progress since it's quite time consuming.
Let me know if your interested in the rest of the .mid files I already have done, I'll zip them up and send them to you.
Take care

Jack, There are a couple I love from the xpress 3, wouldnt mind trying them all. i usually run them all through a soft sampler, remove the drums and convert to wav and mp3 for use with practice. Some of the mids sound really good in the new Xtreme, alot of it depends on the original composer of the midi files. If you need more done just let me know and I will record them for you. Thanks again, T

Hi Tom.
I prefer to have the drum tracks left in the midi files, remember, this is a Yamaha module, all you have to do to play a real .mid file is play it and use the drum (rhythm) mute function to turn off the drum track unlike the TD-20 (I know, I know, cheap shot :D )
Also, I am recording the midis as stock and giving credit to the IIs in the .mid file info since these are Yamaha songs and are more than likely copywrited. I'll have to get clarification of these from Yamaha like I did when I recorded all the songs to MP3, I got permission from Yamaha.
As for the Xpress III, once I get done the IIs songs, I might try and see if I can do the same with the Xpress III, your right, there are a few good song in there also.
Thanks for doing this Tom! :)
Take care

Here's another song from the IIs played on the III from a .mid file I had done.
I played this directly from a USB memory stick! :)
It's song Q2 Rock2 on the IIs but played on the III, I did the drumming, as no one could tell! ick! LOL :D (this is the GM kit)
I'm also attaching two of the preset kits I demo'ed, the Birch Custom Absolute (bca.mp3) and the Beech Custom Absolute (beech-ca.mp3)
Take care

Strange.... same thing, I have a feeling this forum software doesn't like certain characters in the file name, I think it's hickup'ing on the "-"... so I renamed it and trying again.
Take care

Well... I give up, this forum software just does not like this file.... I did upload it on the "My Turn....Doh" message thread in the DTXtreme III section over at DTXperience forums.
Take care
