Hmmmm.......
I just looked the picture over very carefully.......
The module might be right with the incompatible message.....
Tom, look carefully..... one is made in the USA, the other is made in Taiwan.
Also, can't really tell by the picture properly, but the 8 memory chips on each look like they may be different brands?
I'd say the seller was full of **** by calling these two DIMMs "Matched set" they may be the same memory size (256 megs), the same speed (133) and the same latency (CL3) but made at opposite ends of the world? The DTXtreme III is like some of the computers I've had, very fussy about the memory timings, you knew when you had one of these PC's, youd get the famous Windows blue screen of death often (system crash).
These DIMMs just doesn't sit well with me.
Take care

Thanks Jack, Probably just bad RAM, Here is the picture of the Infineon Ram, This RAM was considerably more expensive and looks to be a matched set. Probably can add this to a list of non compatible RAM.

I asked the guy who I bought the next batch of Kingston RAM and he told me that the 2 that are coming are a matched set. I have my fingers crossed. Thanks again, Tom

I'm cutting and pasting this from my reply over at DTX......

Hi Tom.
In the specs, it says to use DIMMs with 18 chips or less, the Infineon have 18 chips (borderline) BUT, the Infineon DIMMs you have are ECC (thus why so expensive), I beleive the module uses non-ecc DIMMs, the kinston I have are non-ecc and are 8 memory chips per DIMM.
I don't know why your Kingston DIMMs don't work, besides them not having the same memory chips on them and being made at opposite end of the world, maybe one of the DIMMs is DOA (Dead On Arrival). I hope you have better luck with the next batch, this is getting goofy. But I understand your frustration, this is why I never buy RAM from internet retailers, I want to see what I'm getting in my grubby little hands first..... Memory is fussy depending on the device you plug it into and the DTXtreme III is fussy about the RAM it munches on.
Take care

PS: ECC ram is normally used in mission critical computers, very high quality stuff, mission critical as in hospitals, in heart monitoring machines and so on, thus no room for error, or at least you hope........ beep.... beep.... beep..... Hickup.... Uggggghhhhhhhh..... Deceased..... that kind of mission critical! LOL :)

Tom... also, here's something you can try with the current Kingston ram you have.......
Plug it in, fire up the module, if it doesn't work, shut off, unplug the module, now take the DIMMs and reverse them, put the one that was in memory socket #1 into memory socket #2 and see if that works, I've seen a lot of weird things when it comes to RAM, so this is a stab in the dark but you have nothing to loose by trying.
Take care.
