I think that is the name on the bottom of the toms.

I play this kit at my church. The bass drum is an absolute nightmare. The foam is rotten. I have turned it over, swapped layers around, and finally added a piece of exeercise mat in the middle over the piezo. I have resoldered the jack 8 or 10 times.
I had similar problems with the dual zone snare. The toms are just going. I emailed Pintech from the website several times over a year and never got a single response of any kind. I finally bought a Roland snare but I am still fighting the !@#$$%%^ Bass. Is there a replacement foam set to be had or do I have to finally break down and do a full redesign of the guts to this mess? :o

drum4ever,

Call Lorrie at Pintech. I've dealt with her several times and she was a delight to deal with. Very patient with tempermental dummers - hahahaha

Why not just call them at 1-800-445-0506... although, I have yet to hear of them not getting back to anyone, even in an email. You using this one Play@EDrums.com ? Not saying there couldn't be a glitch... However, Pintech has an AWESOME reputation for helping their customers.

If you bought the kit new, they have a trigger kit that will get the pad playing like new, dirt cheap. If not, you have to buy the add-on warranty and then they can give you a discount as if you were the original purchaser.

It's okay, let's just relax...if we're all reasonable and handle things with a calm, adult-like demeanor then there's nothing that can't be handled.

I agree, I've never had a problem getting a response from anyone at Pintech. For me the customer service has always been spectacular. But mistakes happen...so now that Pintech has a couple of reps as members of the board, let's give them a chance to step in and help you with your situation. I'm sure that the situation can be solved.

Yes, It was sending to Play@EDrums.com and I just searched my old outgoing mail. My first attept for a response was 5/11/05. It appears I only tried about once a year from that time. Also there seem to be parts on the website now so I guess I need to find out which sets are for these drums.

Yes they were bought by the church new. That was several years ago obviously.

Sorry for the emotional post but I have fought these things too many years. They are generally durable. The last time the bass drum died 1 week after soldering, I tossed it dow the stairs with no affect. Except for the insides, they are solid. ::)

I can get you a number for a very good anger management therapist if you'd like.

Drum4ever,
Please call me 1-800-445-0506 or email me Lorrie@edrums.com. We could have saved you years of frustration. but just a FYI the triggers do not do well being resoldered. each time you resolder it you introduce more flaws and inconsistencies into the triggering, in general this will also void your warranty. However, considering your original emails were missed I will work with your church to get that kick back up and running as inexpensively as possible, providing the toss down the stairs truly had 'no effect' on the drum itself. But someone does need to contact me directly before I can do anything for you.
We are also very fast depending on where in the states you are located, we can have your drum back up and running in as little as 2 days and no more than 5 if we send you the repair parts. If you have to ship it in we turn warranties around within 24 to 48 hours of receiving them. Unless, it is a custom request most items ship back to the customer the same day we get them in. :)

ooops I only address the bass, yes the toms and snare are all giving you issues because they are old and outdated with the current foam that they have. Again an easy and inexpensive fix. Just follow directions in previous post and we can get you taken care of.

lol... Ever pounded through an acoustic head in anger/frustration..??? ;) (I have too!)

You know how frustrating it is when a piece of gear goes bad. I nearly smashed my MacMini on the ground Sunday because it wouldn't recognize my flash card...and when it did would only allow me to transfer 10 files at a time onto it. (i had over 500 pictures and 950 songs...) Was fine once I plugged into my new pc though...

Lorrie..thank you for being so responsive!!!

Drum4ever...let us know how the fix goes! How many drummers at your church use the kit out of curiousity? Might be worth while to have redundancy...aka.. a back up pad.

I should have responded here already. In spite of my rant the Pintech folks here have been very responsive and gracious. I am waiting on approval for the money from the church (hopefully tomorrow night) and I will contact Lorrie to get the needed parts. (yay!)

I probably should have been a bit more detailed about the "toss the bass drum" thing. It was 2 stair steps and they are carpeted but at the time my frustration level was definitely over the top. I do have a KD7 on my Handsonic I pull in emergencies. Its a bit more sensitive but works with minimal adjustment in a pinch.

There were 2 drummers on the kit and the other guy is an A drummer who can't get the grasp of playing lightly and letting the triggers do the work. This was hard on the kit. I am currently the only drummer so things are holding together much longer.

The new Pintech design is much better than the old ones. I had a set of concertcast drums that I had to totally gut and rebuild. (this was years ago) I am so glad they moved from the hump of foam to the tower design.
