Hello all,
You may not want to hear from me as I do not even own a set of edrums yet. I will tell my story and you can decide.
I started drumming at 10 years old in grade school and played in the marching and stage bands all through school. Shortly after school I joined a local country, western band playing small gigs in bars and such. I was 18 by then. I played off and on for the next 11 years in smal country or classic rock bands.
In 1993 I joined a classic rock band in Corning NY called "The Sam Pallet Band". I played with these guys for the next 6 years. The reason I mention this group is because we were kind of the big fish in the small pond. The band was very well known and liked in the Twin Tiers area of NY and PA. I got to play with a lot of great musicians while in this group. A couple you may have heard of, Jeff Wiser is a fiddle player that has seen a lot of recording studious and travels with "The Dave Bromberg band"
Another local band that we were good friends with and did a lot of gigs with was call "Voo Doo Rodeo" One day at a benefit jamberee the drummer for Voo Doo Rodeo was playing my Sonor Signature kit and broke my base drum pedal. The Sonor hardware was so heavey duty I thought it was impossible to break but he did it. This drummer went on to be quite famous and I still consider him a friend even though I haven't seen him in a few years.
You know him as Jeff Plate from the TSO!
He is originally from Horseheads NY, Just down the road from Corning. He is a great person as well as a great drummer.
In 1998 I was injured in a auto accident. Since then my health has gone down hill and I gave up playing for a number of years. Recently I joined up with some old friends as well as some new one and we are playing country and classic rock About 2 or 3 times a month.
I love to play and I love my drums but the old Sonors are just to much for my to carry and I feel guilty letting the others carry then for me. That is why I am looking into a set of edrums. I believe that is the way to go. Any input you people can give me is greatly appreciated.
Oh, BTW, I am 44 years old, I am married to a wonder woman and we have 2 great daughters age 14 and 7. We also have 6 dogs. As soon as I figure out hpw to get my pics to upload to the avatare you will see some pics.
