Hi
My name is Marco, from Montreal Canada. I stumbled onto this forum by accident...boy did I luck out. I'm new to e-drums as I've only had my Yamaha dtx express 3 for about 7 months. I've primarily been an acoustic player for the last 26 years. I have done some upgrades to my yamaha's but lately I have been wanting to convert my acoustic kit...to electronic. Let me say I think I'm going to love this forum.

Thanks all! ....I was checking out some of your kits...I'm impressed. I love playing my edrums, however I have been noticing my right hand has been taking a beating from the pad I'm using as the high hat.( the pad is stationary no movement whatsoever) It's not my grip. I've been to my local stores here in Montreal looking for the new Yamaha one. No luck... So my question to you is, what other brand can I use that is compatible with the Yamaha Dtxpress 3.
Peace

Hi Coots and welcome to this place. :)
What many people do with their DTXpress III and IV standard kits is they get a regular Yamaha cymbal, let's say a dual zone PCY-130s and stand, and replace the TP-65 pad with it. Then you get a little give when playing as long as you don't screw down the cymbal too tight. also using a second PCY-65s (same as your dual zone pie shaped cymbal that comes with the Xpress III standard) would also work. Using a dual zone cymbal as such should also give you a 2 zone hihat (bow and edge) much like the RHH-130 and the new 135.
You should be able to pick up a used PCY-65s (make sure it's a PCY-65s and not a PCY-65) used on eBay pretty cheap, maybe with the rack cymbal stand thrown in.
Good luck.
Take care
