Hey Guys,
Having a problem with 'Drum mapping'. i have a DTXplorer connected via usb to midi cable to my PC. the software i use are 'cubase SX 3' and Ezdrummer. everything works fine (velocity's etc) apart from my kick is the 'snare'sound and the snare is a crash.I'm pretty new to music software so if anyone could shed some light on this issue I'd very much appreciate it.
or if anyone using a dtxplorer could give advice on software/setups they use.
thanks
Andy.

Hi bambam and welcome to eDf :)
This is actually a noted problem with EZDrummer and the DTXplorer. I guess yamaha didn't give the explorer the ability to change the midi out note of the bass drum. (I'm speaking pure speculation here from what I've heard and seen) It maps out of GM.
However, I would think that if you go into the Drum editor in cubase and change the midi mapping to the Bass Drum on the channel that your BD is hitting.... so on and so forth with each midi instrument that is mapped incorrectly.
Additionally, I believe there are drum maps for the DTXplorer on the private support area for toontracks. I know they have them for DFH and Superior. This may also be a better question in the registered user area of the toontrack forum.
Someone their may be better suited to answer your question. I am however, more than willing to help if you need further assistance.
Hope this helps :)

There is a program called eDrumMIDIMapper and also Edrum Monitor. Search them in yahoo or google and download them, they both offer MIDI IN/OUT manual mapping, so you don't have to change anything software or module wise. eDrumMIDIMapper also gives you more control over MIDI mapping of the hi-hat which is a big concern to VSTi users. Not sure about Supperior or other sample libraries but these programs does wonders with EZDrummer.
Welcome to the forum and happy drumming - and happy new year! Or is it still eve there? :)

Hmm.. if the midi note for your kick is x and the midi note for the kick in EZDrummer is y, then go to the midimapper and set the input to x and output to y. I assume you know to look at the midi map of EZdrummer.. the little '?' box on the right if my memory serves me right.
You also got to set the input/output of your sound card device correctly.
