Yamaha rs80 drum rack + Pintech question

I have a Yamaha RS80 drum rack, a number of tp65 pads, a dual zone tp? snare, along with a kp65 and a DTXtreme IIS module. I can't play the rubber pads anymore, so currently I'm considering some Pintech mesh pads. Does anyone know if I can use the RS80 rack with Pintech pads? If I sell off my TP65 pads, should I keep the hex mounts or the rs80/gibraltar rack clamps?

I believe Pintech sells the knurled rod mounts that fit into all popular rack clamps what work with the Pintech pads and any tom mount that uses the rod type mount. I think those are the 7/8 mount I am thinking of. I know there is another 1.5" hex mount that is available but I bought my batch through Drumbalaya before they went out of business. I would call Lorrie at Pintech or Brian from Hope Drums to look for a solution that will suit you best.

I use both types of mounts in my kit. Good Luck:)

Since you already have them, I'd say keep the hex mounts. I still use them on my Pintechs and rims-mounted drums. I actually prefer them to the standard round 10.5mm L-rods as the drums can't accidently rotate with the hex mounts. WW

PS: I don't know what the shipping would be or how much he wants, but Jack (CaTaPulT) has 2-10", 2-12", a 12" kick and a 14" AX14 he's been talking about selling.

PSS: Tom's right about "Lorrie" at Pintech. Very nice and has always given me better deals than the Pintech listed prices. Give her a call if you decide to go that route.
