Hi there,

I finally got my first pads today, so I have something to bang on! YEEPEE!
The pads that I got are a RHH135, a PCY135, and a PCY155.

So far I have set up the RHH135 and PCY155, and have the following problem:
To get the hihat to close completely, I have to press it a lot harder that I like. Is there any way to fix this? I have looked in the manual, and played around with the module, but it seems like all I can set sensitivity for is the whole hihat at once, and not its individual parts (edge, bow, pedal). This can't be right, can it?

Try adjusting the " FootClosePosition" in Utitility > Pad > Hi Hat. Try different settings there until you find the right setting for you. Foot splash is there too. Alvis
Oh, Don`t forget you have to store utility settings on the III too.
Almost forgot, To make changes to individual zones Use the SF5 button and select "Source". " Input" will be all 3 zones together.

Thanks a lot Alvis!
I now have the foot control working much better, splash too.
I still don't know where to press SF5 - it doesn't look like it is in the "trigger" menu.
I found some individual setting in the "drum kit" menu under F5, is that what you mean?
If so, does that mean that I have to set velocities for each kit?

I feel a little goofy for asking all these questions...

I also have a problem that the bell and edge triggers on the PCY155 will some times trigger the bow instead. Especially when tabbed lightly.

Hi Model76,
Your`re right. You can only change trigger settings for the entire input and not each source. I wrote that from memory . Probably not a good idea. Don`t feel goofy about asking questions. I think that is one of the main reasons for the forum. Talk about goofy. I`m the one who made you waste your time looking for trigger source settings. lol. Sorry about that.
I Don`t have that problem with my 155. I would try your 135 in that input. If it works correctly then it could be the pad and not a module setting. If not maybe some trigger changes would help. I hope the pad is not bad. Alvis

I did as you suggested, and the PCY135 performs similarly. Maybe it's my settings, or maybe I am nitpicking here, I dunno.

I would appreciate it if you could do this test for me:
Tap a cymbal on the bell, very very lightly, so that it doesn't trigger. Then slowly increase the force until you get sound. Is the first sound you get a bell or bow sound? Or will the bow sometimes trigger at very light tapping?

Thanks again, Alvis, you are great!

Thanks Model76,
I tested mine and it reacts the same as you described. I never noticed it before. I guess I never strike the bell that softly. Well I don`t think anything is wrong with your kit. The question remains though why it`s that way. I`ve checked some trigger settings but I have not found the answer yet. I`ll let you know if I find something. I hope it`s not too much of a problem for you. Alvis

Thanks for that, that would be great.
Anyway, I am probably just nitpicking here, and it will probably be fine when I get used to it.
