I was checking out the video that Lorrie and Pintech shot demonstrating the new design of the location of controller on their VisuLite Hi Hats . I know there's some electronic drummers on this forum that use Pintech gear so I figured I'd post this info. if you didn't allready see this video .
Here's the info. from Pintech ( via their myspace page ) and the included video :

Subject: New VisuLite Hi Hat Introduction
We introduced the new Hi Hats with the controller in between the cymbals back in April. However, we felt it might have more impact if you could actually see what they do. And how they do it which is such a huge improvement over the way they used to mount on the Hi Hat stand. So here is the video and know that it is also permanently posted on the Pintech profile page.

Thanks Sam for the video.
Just checked their site and OMG!!!!!!!!. Even with my Pintech frequent buyer discount these puppies will be "cha-ching" expensive ($441/$482 retail with a 10% discount). Also appears they won't work with the DTXtreme III module?
Anybody play these yet?

Considering Pintech is American made, I'm pretty sure Roland's VH-12 will soon see it's downfall :) I myself will be purchasing exclusively from Pintech now on.

Remember that is MSRP. Dealers (ahem) such as myself (shameless promotion) sell them for less....and I give eDf members even better pricing

Not to dis Brian (cuz he's great!) - but I do believe that if you contact Axe, he can get a special EDF rate / deal.

It's about time Pintech improved their controller, their older design was wretched! I once owned one... couldn't stand it!
I am not sure if this is because of the camera's microphone or not, but those hats seem pretty loud, especially when as they were being closed. I guess we'd have to have a VH-12 side by side in the video to accurately compare them though.
Also, I wonder just how "permanent" the controller device is. That would suck if they constructed it to where you had to buy their hats as well instead of being able to use something else, like for example some DIY A2E hi-hats.

It's permanent. I would be more than happy to walk you through making a cmc for an acoustic set, weather permitting. They're no louder than the visu-lites were prior to the CMC :D All be it, that's not saying much - lol

They are louder than the VH12 hats, but I believe they shot the video with a camera phone, so I'm sure that doesn't help!
