Hi all.
Well, I finally got my kit all done, it took me a week to get motivated enough to put the finishing touches on it which were to run the cables into the spiral wrap and to clean the pads.
I seriously reduced the size of my kit, I wanted to fit it into my Sim Racing room in the basement and also wanted to have a more manageable kit in case I ever have to move (we rent) so the kit went from being this (See the 1st picture) to being this (see 2nd picture).
I couldn't get the whole kit in the picture since this room is small and I couldn't get enough of a angle, so see the 3rd picture for the right side of the kit (most of the kit is in this picture) and see the 4th picture for the left side of the kit.
The 5th picture is of my Sim Racing setup, it consists of a PS3, PC, Sony Bravia 32 inch LCD TV/monitor, a Logitech 5.1 surround sound system, a Playseat driving seat and a Logitech G25 wheel, pedals and shifter. :)
Take care

(Posted at the DTX site too)
I think you missed a very important opportunity here to emulate one of your heros Jack. Since your serious about keeping the sim racing set-up, you should have set-up your downsized kit back to back with the sim racing chair.
Then like Neil Peart's kit, you just rotate the chair around to play your drums http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-laughing025.gif (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys.php)
PS: Yamaha sells a 4" hi-hat rod extender to bring those cut-offs back to normal length.

Hi Wes.
LOL yeah, that would have been cool, problem is the room is too small! LOL
But having a motorized seat sounded kinda fun!
I forgot, you had mentioned before about the hihat stand rod extensions, in a way, this was a good thing since so far, I like this Gibraltar stand a lot better than both of my Yamaha stands (one came with the IIs and the other with the III standard), I don't know, seems the new stand is just plain smoother.

Hi HF.
No gigging here, this is just a hobby, kinda reliving my youth since I used to play in a band when I was a teen. Since I rent, I can't have a acoustic kit so I got into eDrums about 3.5 years ago. I went nuts, built a large kit which saw a few incarnations and now am getting back to earth and basics so I downsized my kit to something a little more manageable and fun to play. This kit only uses one module so life is simpler this way! LOL :)
I had just finished cleaning the rubber pads when I took those pictures, for those with rubber cymbals like the Yamaha's, try the Armor All cleaning wipes (not the protectant) it comes in a plastic can and are wet wipes, they work really well for cleaning the rubber cymbals and pads! :)
Take care

LOL Wes, it sure has become a smaller world drum wise, I don't feel so lost back there! LOL :)
Yep, the kits have gone through a few names, I still haven't figured what to call this one since it's nothing spectacular as before, I was thinking "J.A.C.K." (Just Another Common Kit) LOL :)
