Hello, my name is Steve. I’ve been drumming about 15 yrs. On and off anyways. In recent years I’ve been playing on Roland V-drums. And recording with friends. So not much gigging at all.
Thing is, a few friends of mine talked me into gigging with them. In a couple of months we will be playing in a few small clubs.

My problem is equipment. I would like to know if any of you drummers have experience gigging with electric drums. And if so, what equipment did you use? The band I am gigging with has a nice PA. But I would like to be independent as well as going through the main.

I have Roland V-drums with a TD-10 w/ expansion, and the TD-12 sound modules.

I use them my .02 is keep it simple.
Nothing stinks worse than a powersurge or no sound during a song and you have to track down a bad cable or something muted.
I my setup for complete Edrums is a simple TD8 4 piece setup, a good UPS, plenty of spare cables, and i use external triggers just in case a pad dies.
If i run a hybrid type setup I leave the module at home, and trigger my kick with my SPDs and use acoustic toms, snares, and cymbals.
