Hello everyone. I just bought a Yamaha DTXplorer with a TP100 snare. It's sounds pretty ok to me to practice at home, but I lack a few sounds here and there that I normally use.
It's the first electric drumset that I own so I'm still quite new-ish to e-drums.
Does anyone know if it is possible to download midi drum samples and save them on the drumset as a userkit?
I know it's probably possible to connect the module to midi and then play it but I'm not sure if it's possible to actually save it on the module?
If anyone could help me and get me started with that, that would be great!
Thanks you guys!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but what you wish is not possible, you're pretty much stuck with the internal sounds of the DTXplorer, the only way to get better sounds would be to connect your DTXplorer to a computer via midi and use a drum VST through a host like Qbase or others.
Take care

That's quite sad :(
Is there no other way but to connect a pc or laptop to it?

About the only thing you can do is read the manual (especially the chapter on VOICE) and see if you can modify the internal sounds to something you like better and then save it to a user kit. Yamaha modules all seem to have the capability to change the sounds and make them much better, even though I have no experience with the DTXplorer, every other Yamaha module I've owned could be made to sounds quite good.
Take care

I can confirm that the DTXplorer can modify the sounds. I can now get that great secondary crash sound.

Thanks for those answers. I'll try all of that.
I have a question concerning the user kit drums.
It seems like I can only choose a few items per aspect. With that I mean if i for instance go to my custom user kit 34 and want to change the tom 1, there's only like 5-6 possibilities, while in the standard kits there's a lot more.
How can I find all the possible sounds that are available for that particular tom 1 so that I can choose more broadly?
What I specifically like to do is to have the acoustic drumset (preset 1) but use the shaker when I close the hihat with my foot (which is in the preset with the latino drums, preset 31 or something).
