View Full Version : DTX II module input issue with PCY-150

On my DTX II module, I'm using a PCY-150 in inputs 2, 3, 4 and 5, which are normally assigned to toms. I've changed the trigger settings to PCY-1 and I'm using stereo cables.
Here's the problem:
Input 2 - I can only assign the same sound/volume to all three zones.
Input 3 - I can assign three different sounds to each zone.
Input 4 - I can assign three different sounds to each zone.
Input 5 - I can only assign the same sound/volume to all three zones.
It's got to be something simple, but I've scrolled through the settings of all four pads and can't see anything different between inputs 3/4 and inputs 2/5. Any ideas? WW

Hi Wes.
I just finished trying out my PCY-150s into both ports 2 and 5 on my IIs, setting it to PCY-1 and I could change the voices and volumes and tuning on all 3 zones of the PCY-150s.
My IIs was factory reset and has not been used since.
So more than likely, it's some setting someplace that's not set right since the PCY-150s works well on inputs 2 and 5.
I hope you find the problem.
Take care

Wes, I responded at DTX. Let me know if you get it working or not.
Thanks for the clue. I can see now that you are using the IIs for cymabals and the TD-10 for toms. heehee. :)

If that were the case for what I recorded the last q-song fest with, why would I be experiencing a problem now and not then? Keep trying module-master, as the circle is not yet complete.

Thanks for checking Jack. Mine had a factory reset before I started too, so I'm surprised at what I've run into. It's got to be something simple as I've danced all over the trigger/utility/voice settings to determine why 2/5 and 3/4 are triggering different. I might need to just do another factory reset and start over. WW

Wes....
Try saving the alldata to a SM card and try a factory reset, then try loading your stuff back in with the alldata file you saved, that should work at getting all your kits and settings back? Right Alvis (again, I've never tried this).
Take care

Jack, Jack, Jack. Have you no understanding that after all these years I have absolutely no idea how to do.............what you just said you've never done - hahahaha

Wes Wes Wes, I've never done it cause I had no reason to do it, if I would have had a reason to do it, I would have done it.
They put it there for people to do it, if they didn't want anyone to do it, they wouldn't have put it there.
Now doesn't this make the inner workings of the module seem simpler! LOL :D

LOL, You guys are nuts. I save one of every file type I can. I would save an "allkit" at this point. All of the backup files are only as good as the last time you saved it. So if you don't have a previous "alldata" and you save it now it would contain the bad data also. Do a reset and reload the bad "alldata" file and you are right back where you started. It's a Moot point I guess since Wes won't do it anyway. hahaha. But I would be glad to tell you how if you want to Wes. :)

But the point is, Wes resets the module, memorizes every setting that makes inputs 2 and 5 work with the 150s and then restores the module back to the buggy version so he can realize what setting is wrong and causing this. Remember Alvis, the IIs has a steep learning curve, what better way to learn than to dive right in and give your head a shake and shrug your shoulders and then yell out A L V I S!!!!!!!! LOL :D
Take care
