Hi!
Gilounet's here from France!
First I would like to congratulate this great forum, really interresting.
So, I'm interresting by the DTXTREME standard set (with the new price, it's a good product I guess).
I've already tried this one during the last Music show in Paris "Salon de la musique de Paris" in September 08.
I found the kit really great (sounding, and feeling with the pads, especially the cymbals).
Now, I have seen that there is many websites who sell some Sampled kit, adn somes kits are dedicated for the DTX series....
I'm unfamiliar with sampling, and all od theses product, so if someone could give me some informations
about theses sounds collections.
For exemple, I 'm looking for Vintage kit like Gretsch, Sonor,, Jazz kits with
18" Bassdrum).
Is it simple to use?
And...if you want to post your feedback of your DTXTREME kit,
I'll really appreciated it!

I personally can't help regarding the use of the kits on the DTXtremeIII. I can state that a lot of the kits sound really good. I'm sure you could find what you're looking for.
Hopefully someone a little more informed will chime in soon.
Welcome to edf :)

Hi Gilounet and welcome to this place.
There's a company working on making great sounding drum kit for the DTXtreme III, I think they are called Ocean Way Drums or something to that effect, I've not tried their free sample kit but there are a few on this forum that have and they loved it. So as long as this company is dedicated to keeping this project alive, I think you'll see some interesting drum kits for sale. I'm not sure if Ocean Way uses samples or they just tweak the sounds already in the module (kind of like what Vex does for the Roland TD line of drum modules).
The DTXtreme III has some pretty impressive sounds right out of the box and can easily be made to sound better once you know your way around the module a bit to edit those sounds and make them sound the way you want them to.
Time will tell if 3rd party companies will offer specialized kits like those based on specific acoustic brand names like old Gretch, Rogers, Pearl, Ludwig, Sonor, etc that you load up in the DTXtreme III.
Take care

Thank you so much Jack and Wildwes :)
Yes, I have found Oceanwave website and the demos files sounds great!
I 've just tried some kits of the DTXtrem3 with the originals sounds in drums shops, without any changes, just right out of the box sounds, but they sounds really great.
The other cool feature of the DTXtrem 3 is the sampling function:
For example, As I play some Keyboard too, I have some realy greats sounds
in it, and it seems to be really easy to add theses sounds in the DTX module
(after adding the DIMM memory).
Thanks for your kinds replys, and my appologies foir my english ;)
