HI

Im Totaly new too edrums but its where im going and need some advice if thats ok.
I was and in the process of converting my normal kit in too an E one. I have mesh heads on all the drums and and 4 Yamaha Cymbals. A RHH135 - 2 PCY135 and 1 PCY155. I was going to get DDrum Triggers and hook it all up too a DTX3 Moddule.

The thing that has put me off is the Module price on its own £1500. Apart from finding it hard to actually get the Mod with out the kit is that you can get the whole standerd kit and Module for just £200 more. On the kit side tho im not a fan of rubber pads. Much prefer Normal or Mesh heads.
My idea has now gone to spending the extra money and getting the full kit and mixing it with my triggerd Mesh head normal kit so it would be a normal set up with the DTX pads as extras.

Is that a viable idea? or should I just try and find a DXT2s Module and hook the triggers up to that. I was going with Yamaha Modules as I read you doint get the 3 zone triggering with the cymbals on other make Modules.

Well I hope all that makes some sence as I think Ive confused myself there :}

One other thing. How good is the triggering of the Bass Drum as I use Vruk with Axis A Longbords and Sonic Hammers. Can it handle really fast speeds and if I went with the Kit option would I just shred the Pad?

Sorry about that last question as I just rememberd. Cheers for anyone that read this far :}

Hey Darkmere.....If you can get the standard III kit for just 200 pounds more..I would probably go that route...you can always sell off the stuff you don't want from the kit and save some money that way....unless of course you can find a used III module...I have seen them occasionally on ebay for around $1100 dollars (US); that's how I bought my III module....I definitely recommend the III module over the IIs module...the III is a much better module in every way!....and yes the Yamaha modules are the only ones that have 3 zone triggering on all cymbals (via one TPS cable)...good luck on your decision and if there's any other questions I can answer, just let me know..:)
