I've used Pintech and Hart with no issues. Hart are a little thicker than the Pintechs, but I found the Pintech heads respond better with my Pintech drums/triggers. I might have to order one for a comparison check with Pintech, Hart Mag, Hart Max and Blastech. WW

Sounds like the MAXXUM heads were designed for snare and bass drum applications...based on the link you provided..:)...I've used the MAGNUM heads on my toms and bass and have been happy with them..especially when they were half the price of roland heads (when I last bought my heads)...now that they are virtually the same price...I'll probably go with whichever brand is in stock....when it comes time to replace them...

For when your Kick and Snare drum are reallly big but you want that sensitivity that only sheepskin can provide!!!!

I'm using 682drums.com mesh heads and they are perfect. They only offer dual layer heads, but single layer mesh heads have a terrible rebounce anyway.
I have build a E-kit myself, with build in triggers an 682drums heads. Great for practice and for on stage (I use a TD12 Roland module).

Pretty blanket statement about single layer mesh heads. I've used Pintech, Hart and some no-name ones and all displayed different bounce characteristics. Also the type of trigger/foam, sticks and your preference for head tension can result in rebound differences. WW
