After years as a guitar gear head and keyboard player I have wanted to get into drumming for a change of pace. After looking at acoustic kits and the room they take up I have put together a small e-kit(small for now until GAS kicks in). Using some existing gear I have with a small addition I am hooked. I am using a Yamaha Motif 6 for a midi sound source with a Alesis control pad with external pedals for hi hat and kick durm. No need to be quiet where I live, so I am using 1 Mesa 4x10, 1 Mesa 2x10 and 1 Agulair 2x10 with a vintage Ampeg SVT and Mesa M-180. The amp and cab set has worked well for my keyboard and works well with my e-drum kit. I don't play out so moving the gear is not a issue.
Look forward to learning more here.

Welcome to the forum bigpine! There are a lot of good people. So, you have any questions just ask. BTW how do you like the Alesis control pad? I'm thinking of getting one myself.

Welcome brother!
-I too am a bit of a gear hoarder..
Marshall JCM 800 (original, not the reissue, early 80's issue that still had the JTM circuit))
Gibson SG with 3 pickups (the middle pickup is fairly useless but looks awesome and leaves a lot of room if I decide to swap p-ups)
..and I'm an extremely novice guitar player at best. lol
You are among kindred spirits!

I have had good results from the Alesis control pad. The only draw back is the hi hat control and single trigger pads, other than that it's a great deal for the money. Fully programable, what more could you ask for? More external inputs I guess.
I hope GAS doesn't strike too bad, I will have a hard time with what guitar gear to sell off. Oh well, with 12 guitars and 10 amps there is some that could go to a better home!!
